General Hazard

Optical, Electrical & Mechanical Hazards
Warning: Do not look directly into the lights. Prolonged exposure to strong white light can damage eyes.
Warning: The proper function of certain light sources cannot be determined with the naked eye, so always use test papers or documents.
Warning: UV radiation from this product can cause eye and skin irritation. Aim light sources only at documents or use suitable shielding. Never look directly at the LEDs.
Warning: Magnetic field (devices with RFID option). This device generates a weak HF field (13.56 MHz) during operation. Maintain distance from other electronic devices. Special caution required for pacemakers, implanted defibrillators and hearing aids.
Warning: Eye strain possible with extended use. Take a 10–15 minute break every hour. If discomfort occurs, stop using the device and consult a doctor.
Warning: Invisible laser radiation (980 nm) – laser class 3R. Avoid direct eye or skin exposure to the laser beam. Use only on flat documents with the opening fully covered. When the laser is active (red LED lit), hold the device horizontally with the opening facing downward. Never point the bottom at people. Do not clamp the activation buttons. The laser option („AS“) is indicated by a laser warning symbol on the housing and on the label in the battery compartment.
Warning: The optical lens can lead to inflammation of objects if the device is exposed to direct sunlight (burning-glass effect). Always keep the device covered when not in use.
Risk of Damage
- IP 54 – not water-resistant – keep away from water.
- Do not reach into the device or insert foreign objects.
- Do not open the device.
- Use only for document checking.
- Avoid extreme temperatures.
- Do not use sprays, aggressive, alcohol-containing or flammable cleaning agents.
- Remove batteries during extended storage to prevent leakage.
Batteries
Caution: Observe correct polarity (+/–). Always replace both batteries at the same time. Do not short-circuit batteries. Leaked or damaged batteries can cause health issues.
Environmental Conditions
Operating range: –20 to +55 °C; ≤80 % relative humidity, non-condensing.
Disposal: Do not dispose of batteries with household waste. Return to collection points at battery retailers or municipal hazardous-waste centres. Within the EU, the device and accessories must be collected and disposed of separately.
